1-4 November 2018, Sichuan Normal University, Chengdu, Sichuan

Thank you for your interest in the 6th Foundation for Australian Studies in China (FASIC) Conference.

The FASIC Conference is the premier annual Australian Studies conference held in China. The international Conference will bring together scholars and students sharing knowledge and mutual understanding by showcasing high quality research on Australia and promoting Australian Studies as an internationally lively and engaging field of inquiry. The 6th FASIC conference will build upon previous conferences’ narrations of connectivity between Australia and China, whilst aiming to address new and unchartered areas of timely discussion. This year’s host city, Chengdu, has a unique geographical and anthropological landscape, while Sichuan Normal University is renowned for its contribution to minority studies and cultural preservation. This offers an unprecedented opportunity for the 6th FASIC conference to embark on a broad-ranging discussion, including but not limited to: mobility; geography; environmental stability; international relations; social and economic studies; minority and gender studies; as well as real and imagined “spaces” between East and West in 2018. The notion of shared destiny” will address global challenges from philosophical, cultural, scientific and innovative viewpoints, aiming to construct knowledge pathways to benefit local and global communities.

Conference details will be made available on www.fasic.org.au.
